“Respecting diversity is essential in a peace education framework. We approach this peace action, not from a white-centered, cisgendered perspective; rather from a global approach. In addition to a strength-based approach, we utilize research focused on culturally relevant teaching practices”

In this video, we deeply explore the peace action:

‘Respect Diversity'

This peace action invites us to view diversity as a strength and an asset — an opportunity to learn from people, genders and cultures of all backgrounds. UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, shares with us that respecting diversity is an interpersonal skill that goes beyond tolerance and understanding. Respecting diversity actively acknowledges and promotes the equal worth of ALL peoples.

World Citizen Peace presents a peace education series exploring the 5 peace actions. This peacelearning was created by Julie Lillie.
